SMART Goals

W.A.L.T Set smart goals
S.M.A.R.T. means Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-sensitive.
Specific: Don’t be vague. What exactly do you want?
Measurable: Quantify your goal. How will you know if you’ve achieved it or not?
Attainable: Be honest with yourself about what you can reasonably accomplish at this point in your life, taking into consideration your current responsibilities.
Realistic: It’s got to be doable, real and practical.
Time: Associate a time frame with each goal. When should you complete the goal?

My writing goal is to...use subject specific vocabulary to support the meaing.
The reason I have decided to focus on this goal is because...so I can support the meaing and give the reader more information.
I will accomplish my goal by...learning more specfic and interesting words in my spelling and then add them to my writing

My reading goal is to... Make connections between what I know about the world
The reason I have decided to focus on this goal is because...so I can take what I know and then
expand that knowledge.
I will accomplish my goal by... By reading the text and see what I know about it and then ask questions.

My maths goal is to...chose the most appropriate strategy for a given problem
The reason I have decided to focus on this goal is because...it might be faster for one strategy and slower for another so I need to choose quickly.
I will accomplish my goal by...asking for a problem and then quickly chooses my strategy to work it out.

My personal goal is to..work more efficiently in a chosen group
The reason I have decided to focus on this goal is because...usually I chose my own group that I can work well with so I don't work that well with other peoples chosen groups.
I will accomplish my goal by...trying to be more involved in group activites.
