Description:For my inquiry I am in Joy's science and gardening. In Joy's group we are remaking the gardens outside of the library. We are also conduction experiments.
The benefits of this are that hope fully we will have class gardens, a chicken run and a worm from which is finished.

What was the most proudest moment? The proudest moment for me is finshing all the projects like the worm farm ect and also creating success science experiments.

What made me chose joys inquiry is because I felt like the school needs to be cleaner and more eco friendly.
I think I am a Self Managing learner because I reckon that there are thing that I can do but not consistently.
The goal that I am currently working on is to set S.M.A.R.T goals. S.M.A.R.T goal are goals that are Specific,Measurable,Attainable,Realistic,Time Sensitive.
The things I need to do to achieve this goal is to first set normal goal more often, then I can turn the goals into S.M.A.R.T goals.
Today for discovery time I stared to build a adventure park in Minecraft.
I showed creativity by not just doing what other people do which is just make a flat roller coaster, I have made a excitingly thrilling roller coaster with bumps and drops ect.
I showed agency by getting on with the task and not mucking around and also I was a courageous learner.
I showed excellence by fixing even the tiniest mistakes so it is the best it could be.
Next week for discovery time I am going to continue this and hope that I can get another rode finished.

Blurb:By the mystery of the city the blurb has really hooked me in and it make me really want to find out why it was deserted and how come it still has water, because form what I think if it was deserted then wouldn't all the water been dried out? And also how wouldn't there be people aldrady in it because it is a city and city have cathedrals so it would be spotted quite far away wouldn't it?
Title:The title Petronas sounds really interesting and it also sound like a spell from a movie. The title has really managed to capture my interest and I wan't to read the book.
Prediction:I think that the story is set on a large city and it inhabitants have to go on a quest to find out why it was deserted. In the page the boy is teaching the girl how to float and I think he is teaching her that because she might need to be able to know how to swim.
What do you know about deserts and the life of nomadic tribes? How did this help your understanding of the problems Baba and the nomads face in finding water to survive?
I know that desserts are usually really how and there isn't much water around and also a nomadic tribe would be hard to feed because they would have animal to help so they need water as well.
“Now, something else caught her eye. Could it be?...It was a miracle - a dream come true.” (p.13) Why did the author not tell the reader what Baba saw here? What was the purpose of this omission?
I was probably to build suspense and make the reader read on to see what she had seen.
Alliteration is the repetition of the first letters or sounds of words within a sentence. The author writes, “There was grass: long, luxurious grass.” (p.11) How does this use of alliteration help you to visualise the grass? What other words that start with “l” could you add to the sentence to enhance the description?
The useage of alliteration has made me visualise that the grass was really luxurious and not some crummy grass in a industrial city. I would add: There was grass: long lovely luxuriously grass.
They both fell in a deep sleep and were found in the eastern part of the city.
Why do you think people are falling into a deep sleep?
Because I reckon that there are people that are still there and they think that the nomads have invaded their city so they are putting them into a deep sleep so they can have the city to themselves.

Ki is angry because the new Baba is a girl and he thinks that she misleads them.
Description: Pop Art was made in Britain. It usually consists of modern items and the colours are usually pop. Andy Warhol was one of the many famous pop artist's and he painted quite a few. He mostly did the Campbell soup.

Big Idea: To start our pop art we researched pop art and looked at what they have in common. Then we made a template on card. Then we printed it on a big piece of card. Finally we painted it.

Description: This term in te reo we have learning the body parts in Maori. For this task we had to create some kind of presentation showing the Maori body parts, chooses who our audience was. We choose to make a puppet pals for five year olds.

Big Idea: We learnt the body parts by singing a song, making a poster with all the words we could find and also we had the Moari dictionary to help us. In our video we used the words kumu-bum ringa-hand makeawae-hair.

Evaluation: I think that in my movie that we have used a variety of words and not just the simple ones. Next time we could of added a bit more words and make our video a bit longer so at the end we could of added pronunciation.
Description:Everyday in the afternoons we have maths. In maths we are learning strategy and multiplication. Sometimes we have workshops. You have to go to your work shops. In our work shops we learn new strategies. When we are not in a workshop we do our strategy maths.We have different stages, I am on stage seven and I am practicing PVP. Then we have multiplication. We have workshops during multiplication time but if you are on a roll then you don't need to go to a workshop. Also if you are not in a workshop then we can do multiplication games.
Big Idea: In this workshop we had four questions to answer. We had to use at least two strategies. For the first one I used PVP or place value portioning. To do this I have split it into a number I know I can divide and what is left of the 176. Then you would go 160/32=5 and remainder 16, but since you can't order half a bus you have to get a extra bus. In the second one I PLAT which is proportional adjustment. I have used it by halfing the 176 into 11 to make the question easier, and the 32 into 2. In the third one I have done R/C or rounding and compensating. I have done this by making into a tidy number then I took away the numbers that I added. Lastly I used a simple algorythm.:)

Description:Every Friday we get together in our production group and we start to plan and make our costumes. My group that I am in is out of Africa. We chose our groups by going to eache group for about a hour or so and the we picked 1st 2nd and third. I chose as my 1st one elements but the group was full so I got my second chose with was out of Africa. The purpose of this production is ora/Life and upcycling. Upcycling is where you take old things and creat something new out of it. My inprastion came from the wide variety of animals.

I have already made a head piece but it needs painting. It is a replica of horns. I made it out of old cardboard tubes and a ice cream container. Then I taped it down and started to papier mâché it.

Now what? Now I need to wait for it to dry and then I can paint it and also I need to attach a string to my head peace. For my body piece I need to hot glue the circle to my smock and cut my smock. And for my pants I need to cut out some more fabric and hot glue them down. Lastly I need to reprint empty spear heads and gule them on.

2) The most challenging thing about production for me was: The fact that my horns/helmet took up 4 weeks I didn't have much time to do much else.
3) One way I demonstrated a growth mindset during production was: Fixing my helmet and not just giving up because it broke, and also I had to cut out a biggggggg sheet fabric and I didn't go, Well this is going to take ages I'm just going to find something else that is easier.
4) Something I am really proud of about production was:Was my helmet because it took agggggggges to make but in the end every single bit of time I spent on it was really worth it.
5) Our school vision is to create agency, creativity and excellence. I showed this by: Because my helmet took so long I didn't start to panic and put everything together really fast, I did every thing slowly and it looked much better.
Description:Every monday and Thursday we have writing. In our writing class we practise our goals. We got our goal by using last years writing, then we used a chart to show all the things we had in our writing. Then we looked at the area that had the least talley marks. That how we chose our writing goal. My writing goal is long and short sentences to build suspense. Big Idea: The things that I have learnt in questioning has help me a lot. The first thing I have learnt was to ask right there questions, they are the ones that the answer is in the text. Second was Think and search questions are also in the text just like the right there ones. Author and me questions are not in the text but, to find the answer you need to use what the author has wrtinen and use your own knowledge to find the answer. Lastly on my own questions is a question not in the text but you use your own knowledge. The very very last two are thick and thin questions. Thin questions are usually a one word answer. Thick one generally have more than word and describe more. We use these type of questions to help us.

Descrtion: Everyday after moving tea we have maths. In maths we have been learning strategy. I am stage six. In stage six we have to find the most effective and fastest strategy. The strategys we have been looking at are; Place Vaule Partitioning, Reversibility, Rounding and Compensating and equal additions.
Big idea: For this sample we had to use effective strategys to help us solve these problems. The strategy I used the most would be Place Value Partition. For the first question I used pvp and equal additions. For the second I us rounding and compensating. Third I did trail and error and then I used pvp and lastly I used trail and error and reversibility.

Descirption: My goal in reading is to expand my vocabulary. Every week we book into two workshops.

2.List of words: sometimes other words in a list can give you clues about the word.

Description: Every Thursday we have science. Frist we had three tasters. We looked at food webs with Troy, then we looked at the digestive system with Suzan and lastly we looked at animal apadaptions with Ebony. After all of that we chose a first and second choice. I got my first choice wich was food chains. A couple of weeks a go we looked at our lunch box and what was inside them. Also how they were made.
Big idea: The learning and what we did was we looked at our lunch box and how they were made. For just a chocolate cookie it take a looooooooooot of time and resources. Also we learned that if we removed the sun (Or anything form the web) we would have no food as everything relies on the Sun and water, (Also it would be very dark so you can't even see the food, plus every body would die of cold.) Today at discovery time I made catapults. We have discovery time every Friday. I showed creativity, agency excellent. I showed creativity by creating my own catapults rom scratch. Also agency by sharing the rubber bands when there were none. I was excellent by never giving up when it; explode, broke, didn't work, didn't go far but in the end I made one.

On the 26th of February we did a star test. Every year we do one star at the start of the year. We did the test to help us find out what our reading goal is.
Big Idea: My goal is to expand my vocabulary. The way I can achieve this goal is by using dictionarys and thesaurus's as my tools.
Today we wrote what we were proud of and what we could work on. A star is what we are proud of and a wish is what we could work on. We wrote it on our think books because if you keep doing stuff digitally you will never be able to write. (Wrting is improtant!!)
In the first week of school we started to do swimming. We swim three times a week (three out of five days). When week six comes we have swimming sports so we have been practising for when the day comes.
Big Idea:
The goals I am working on are:
Making sure I make my hands like cups so I can pull through the water so I can go faster. I will achive this goal by counting how long it takes for me to get to the end and then do it again and see if I got faster if I am faster then that means my hands were like cups.

3. Clear Message - Short sharp clip. Can the watcher get the point of your video?

Big Idea:
On stage six we highlighted the ones we got wrong pink, and then we got a chance to prove ourselves. We got a buddy to test us by saying similar questions to the test. (We started on number bonds). We highlighted the ones we got right on the second test yellow.
The goal I am working on right now is: to write word numbers to 10,000,000, including fractions.
We wrote a story about our first experiences in our childhood for example: that was my first summer or that was my first winter.
Remember the pure white snow that hit my face as I built the biggest snowball in history? (I'm guessing anyway as it was a big snowball)
Remember the icy cold hail that fell from the heavens, slowy freezing the pond trapping a orange goldfish? (I didn't know it was there until that moment because I never looked😄)
